Kyle Dunlevy 이라는 애니메이터의 웹사이트를 CGCHAR 에서 우연히 알게되어 그의 웹사이트를 서핑 하였는데. 캐릭터의 감정을 표현하는데 있어서 대단한 재능을 갖고 있다는 생각이다. 기회가 된다면 그의 웹사이트를 방문하여 그가 설명한 최근 자신이 작업한 애니메이션에 적용한 작업방식에 관한 내용을 읽어보기 바란다.

Have you heard about ‘Kyle Dunlevy’ who is an animator? I just found his website on CGCHAR. His animation is so cool. The expressions of charators are awesome. And if you have chance, read his article which is explaining about his animation process for the latest animation.(Robinhood - "Giving").

Doug Bennett( Walt Disney animation superviser) 와의 인터뷰 내용을 볼 수 있다.
꽤 많은 분량을 할애하여 그의 캐리어, 치킨 리틀 제작이야기, 그의 애니메이션 프로세스 등에 대한 이야기를 들려준다.

They interviewed with Doug Bennett( Walt Disney animation supervisor) on Strutyourreel. He talks about making story of Chicken Little, and his animation process, etc.

치킨리틀 메이킹 영상
제작 과정에 대해 간략히 보여주는 동영상. 캐릭터 컨트롤 세트에 관한 화면도 볼 수 있는데, 휴.. 정말 디테일한 컨트롤이 가능해보인다(무척 복잡하다는 이야기...)
실제적인 디즈니의 첫 3D 애니메이션인 치킨리틀에 대한 좋지 못한 소문도 좀 있었던 것도 사실이지만, Keith Lingo의소감은 재밌게 즐길 수 있으며 만족할 만한 정도의 퀄리티라는 것. 직접 보면 어떤 모습으로 되었는지 알테지.

Chicken Little making movie.
This movie shows about making Chicken Little. You can see the character control set of a character for animating in this movie. Wow~ It helps to animate with very detailed control (it means there’ lots of control parts).
The Chicken Little is the first 3d animation film by Disney studio. There was a review which said bad things about the animation. But depend on Keith Lingo, he said it’s quite good and he enjoyed that animation. I’m going to watch and then I will know what the animation is like~.

" My advice to all of you is simply to work hard. Not just kind of hard, but 110% blood, sweat, and tears hard. Just think. There are only a handful of jobs out there, especially in the film industry. I don't know how many students are in AM but it seems like a lot. Now add in all the students at the Academy of Art, CalArts, Sheridan, Ringling, etc. You get the picture. I know it sounds rough but unfortunately it's the truth. You have to work hard, be disciplined, and self motivated. A quote I always liked was "discipline is defined by what you do when no one is watching." Using stepped method a bit different way

애니메이팅 방식에 관하여 rebeca의 블로그(방문 강추! Jason Ryan의 놀라운 애니메이션 샘플을 볼 수 있다)에서 또 한가지의 정보를 얻었다. Animation Mentor의 강사로 있는 Kenny Roy 의 Pose to Pose 방식의 애니메이팅 기법에 관한 설명이다. 하지만 처음 신을 블로킹하는 단계에서 일반적인 스텝드 모드를 사용하지 않고 조금 변형된 독특한 방식을 사용하고 있는 점이 특이하다. 링크된 rebeca의 블로그 페이지 중간 즈음 "Class 2: Session 9 (substitute) Kenny Roy Q&A" 라는 타이틀을 찾으면 된다. There's one other thread about animating work process which I found on rebeca's blog (worth to visit! You can see Jason Ryan's animation example which is awsome and usefule). It's about pose to pose animation process by Kenny Roy(one of the mentor of Animation Mentor). But this is very interesting because he's using stepped method quite different way when he blocking a scene. You can find the subject in middle of the linked page. Work process of Mike Walling

애니메이션을 하는 방식은 애니메이터에 따라 조금씩 다르다. 이것은 하나의 완벽한 방식이 있는 것이 아니므로 자신에게 맞는 방식을 찾아야 한다는 것을 의미한다. 하지만 그러기 위해서 우리는 프로페셔널 애니메이터들의 방식을 따라해보며 연구해야할 필요가 있다. Animation Mentor 에서 강사로 있는 마이크 월링의 홈페이지에 자신의 애니메이팅 과정을 소개하고 있으므로 참고해보기 바란다. Mike Walling's website(클릭 Features icon).

There's no exactly perfect work process. It's quite different depend on animator. It means that we have to find own process. But for it we have to try and study ninja animator's process. Here's Mike Willing's. He's one of the mentor of Animation Mentor and worked at Sony Imageworks, Blue Sky Studios, etc.. Mike Walling’s website(Click the Features icon).
